Very informative site. Great for anyone who enjoys New York and American history. We were allowed a self tour of 2nd floor due to the heat advisory. Worth the to see.
Lovely home now a National Park, passport stamp available here, tours available, short film and small museum, nice area, friendly staff
Really great stop with a top-notch ranger led tour of the home. A must see if you are in the area.
Awesome spot that should not be missed. Free and maintained by NPS (National Park Service). Alexander Hamilton's home with detailed exhibitions on his life. Home is maintained beautifully and the guided tours are very helpful to understand how he used to live. Free lockers on site to store stuff while on the tour. Make sure to signup for a tour time right when you arrive or you might be passed over depending on how busy it is.
What a piece of history in such a beautiful area !
Please note that they are open on Friday/Saturday and Sunday. I invite you to check their website to have the last updates.
I arrived and met with very nice Park Rangers, they were ready to answers all of my questions. The house is very well maintained and we can feel the energy and the story from the past when we get inside.
You can have a booklet to guide through the visit. It’s very impressive !
Beautifully restored property tucked away in a quiet pocket of St Nicholas Park, loved our tour guide, has a very nice time.
Nice house to learn about Hamilton's Life. You will only see the ground floor which is a pity, as they should decorate the top floors with furniture from that era.
Interesting place, but there is limited areas where rooms with period furniture are. Tour is only to second floor and there is only a self guided tour which is a few plastic pages describing each room. At best, you will spend about 20 minutes before you are escorted out. Young Ranger was very unsure of his Hamiltonian history. Two films on 1st floor were somewhat interesting. I expected more
